The Sponsoring Committee would like to welcome all cadets to the Air Cadet Program for the upcoming training year. All activities of the Air Cadet program (regular LHQ training, survival exercise trips, gliding) are funded partly or fully either by the Department of National Defense (DND) or through active fundraising efforts of the cadets and the Sponsoring Committee. However, several other interesting programs within the training are optional or non-mandatory, which are either not funded or only partly funded by the DND. For optional or non-funded programs such as the familiarization power flying, the local sponsoring committee needs to raise up to 100% of the required funds. Other major areas where local funding is required include the tow planes and insurance coverage for the Glider program, rental charges for parade
locations, training facilities, storage locker and P.O. Box. Funds are also essential for providing office equipment, telephone charges, photocopying, contents insurance, trophies, and awards. Activities such as band, drill team, air rifle training, effective speaking, FAM flying, and first-aid training are also funded by the Committee.
